Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdams
Born July 3, 1986 - Died January 10, 2014

Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdams was born on July 3, 1986, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. From an early age, he was drawn to aviation and set his sights on becoming a pilot. While still in high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard to serve his country and help fund his pursuit of a pilot’s license.

After completing his initial military training, McAdams advanced through the Army’s aviation pipeline and successfully completed Warrant Officer training in 2006. He went on to serve as an Army aviator, where his technical skill and dedication placed him among those entrusted with demanding reconnaissance and support missions.

Assigned to Detachment 53, Chief Warrant Officer McAdams deployed to Afghanistan in support of operations during the War on Terror. On January 10, 2014, while conducting a reconnaissance mission near Parwan Province, his aircraft crashed. Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdams was fatally injured in the incident.

His service reflects a lifelong commitment to aviation, discipline, and duty—one that began in adolescence and carried through his final mission. Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdams is remembered for answering a calling that combined technical mastery with service in defense of others.
