Lance Corporal Scott Arthur Schroeder, A Marine's Story
Lance Corporal Scott Arthur Schroeder was born on December 17, 1970. He attended Wauwatosa High School in Wisconsin, where he played soccer and graduated in 1989. Shortly after completing high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, committing himself to military service at a young age.
Lance Corporal Schroeder was assigned to the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and deployed to the Persian Gulf in the fall of 1990 in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm during the Gulf War. His unit was tasked with forward reconnaissance and security operations in a rapidly evolving combat environment.
On January 29, 1991, Lance Corporal Scott Arthur Schroeder was killed in action when a mortar round struck his armored vehicle while he was serving in the Persian Gulf.
He is laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
